The Answer to Your Question

8 of Air ~ Tradition

Tradition gives us structures within which we clearly understand how to live

some aspect of life. We can participate in familiar traditions with joyful abandon

because we know how to be there. We can adopt new traditions and play within

them while they become familiar. Traditions can be resting places, guides for

growth, or ways of connecting with others. When participation in a tradition is

willingly embraced and opens the heart or mind, it’s supporting an expanding

life. When participation is obligatory or generates conflict, it’s supporting a

restricted life.

Creativity is supported through familiar processes.

When Tradition appears in your reading, examine your established ways of

doing things and be honest about what’s still working for you and what feels restrictive.

Where you find a good fit, enjoy the beauty of your way of doing. Where you find restriction that isn’t serving

you, begin doing things in ways that step beyond what you believe is logical, possible, or appropriate.
